Interview with Simber

Could you briefly describe your musical history and how you got your start in the music industry?

I got into music at the age of 7, thanks to my brother who transmitted me the love for music, and that’s how I began to sing. while growing up, I got to know the world of music production thanks to a friend of mine around the age of 14, making my first mashup’s and discovering programs of music production. I remember that we had fun creating songs and at this moment I understood that making music was what I emotionally liked to do. I make music for at least 10 years and in the past, I did various genres that influenced a lot of my actual way of making music.

Can you describe the steps you used to make your sample pack?

When I start working on a sample pack I usually prefer to start with all the drum sounds that make up the sample pack ie kick, snare, clap, percussions, etc. Very often to create a kick I use cushion strokes and then process them in the daw while for percussion I really like to experiment by trying to record sounds by hitting some surfaces and also processing very often with the layering technique. After the drums, I begin to work on all the melodic parts such as piano, guitar, kalimba, synth, bass, and more.

Could you tell me more about any of the equipment that was utilized to produce these sounds?

These are my main equipment that makes up my setup: PC, Laptop, Yamaha electric guitar, classic guitar, kalimba, flute, Aston origin microphone, zoom h5 (foleys and textures recordings) Scarlett audio cable, Krk 6 monitor studio, Akai fire, m audio 49 key, shakers, and sp404 mkII.

Do you have any favorite plugins or software?

There are many valid plugins and vst’s that I like to use in sound design but surely one of my favorite methods is either mixing keyscape, addictive keys and Omnipshere to create a piano that sounds right and suitable for the genre I’m creating. As for plugins I really like the whole waves chain and in particular the Guitar Rig.

What should we look forward to from you in 2022? Are you looking forward to any forthcoming releases or projects?

In this period I’m working a lot on a lot of new jazz hop / chillhop music that will be released soon through labels such as Effortless, Mellotron, Chill beats, and others, but above all, I’m trying to create songs with vocals and then mix my jazz hop genre with vocals to give a little more pop to my music. I have also started doing live shows both in my country and there is great news regarding an international featuring
