Houseofloop Template License Agreement

Permitted Uses of Houseofloop Templates and Other Labels Template-Based Music

  1. Personal, Educational, and Production Use (without altering the original melodies)
    • Analyze and learn arrangement, structure, sound processing, automation, etc.
    • Practice mixing and mastering skills.
    • Practice composition, arrangement, and other musical techniques.
    • Utilize samples, presets, and processing racks from the templates for your own commercial productions.
    • Play music at home, clubs, festivals, or parties.
    • Use in live theatrical performances.
  2. Commercial Use of Template-Based Productions
    • You can use template-based music for commercial purposes if you modify all the main melodies. This is the minimum requirement. Elements such as drum samples, drum patterns, track structure, effects, synth presets, and processing can remain unchanged.
    If you have modified all the main melodies, you can:
    • Use templates as a foundation for your own commercial productions.
    • Release on record labels, iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, etc.
    • Use in TV, web, or radio advertisements.
    • Use in videos, films, trailers, apps, games, or other multimedia projects.
    • Include as part of a product available for purchase in a store or online.
    However, we recommend making further modifications (e.g., changing synth presets, drum samples, effects) if releasing a template-based track on a record label.

Prohibited Uses of Houseofloop Templates and Template-Based Music

  1. Resell or share the project (modified or not) or any samples/presets from the project.
  2. Claim exclusive ownership or authorship of the track without modifying the original melodies.
  3. Use for creating sample libraries or royalty-free music.

Licensing FAQ

  1. Can I release the template ‘as is’ on a record label?
    • No, you cannot. You must make significant changes to the template, such as altering the root note, melody, sound processing, and adding your own ideas and sounds. The main and minimum requirement is to change all the main melodies.
  2. Are there restrictions on using samples and presets from the template I purchased?
    • All samples and presets included in our products are royalty-free. You may use individual samples and presets in your own music productions and create an unlimited number of music productions based on one template. Any kind of separate distribution is strictly prohibited.

By purchasing and using our templates, you agree to the following license:

1. Definitions

1.1 “You” and “Licensee” refer to the individual, entity, or organization purchasing and using the templates from the houseofloop.com website.
1.2 “Houseofloop” and “Licensor” refer to the website houseofloop.com, its owners, successors, or authors of templates.
1.3 “Agreement” refers to this license agreement and the terms and conditions specified herein.
1.4 “Template” and “Templates” refer to Houseofloop’s templates (projects, .als) and Content, or any copyrightable work licensed under this Agreement.
1.5 “Content” refers to sound samples (.wav, *.aiff) and melodies (MIDI files, *.mid) included with the template.

2. Ownership and Copyrights

2.1 Templates are protected by copyright laws and international treaty provisions.
2.2 Content and Templates remain the property of Houseofloop and are licensed to the Licensee as the original end-user for use under the terms outlined below.

3. Modifications

3.1 The Licensee may modify Templates and Content and may use them for commercial purposes as part of a musical composition with other sounds.

4. Authorized Use

4.1 The Licensee may use the Content in combination with other sounds in music productions, public performances, and other reasonable musical purposes within musical compositions.
4.2 The Licensee may use Templates and Content for personal, nonprofit, or commercial purposes.
4.3 The Licensee does not need permission or credit to use Templates and Content in music productions.
4.4 The Licensee may not claim that they produced Houseofloop Templates and Content.

5. Redistribution

5.1 The Licensee may not make the Template or any part of its Content available for download from any website.
5.2 The Licensee may not redistribute or resell Templates in any form.
5.3 The Licensee may not sell or give away Houseofloop templates to third parties.
5.4 The Licensee may not bundle Houseofloop templates within their products for sale.
5.5 The Licensee may not electronically transfer Templates and Content or upload them to file-sharing websites or place them in a file-sharing or service bureau operation or computer/sampler network.

6. Limited Warranty

6.1 Houseofloop will not be responsible if the Template or Content does not fit the particular purpose of the Licensee.

7. Termination

7.1 This Agreement terminates immediately if you violate its terms.
7.2 You agree that monetary damages alone are not sufficient in the event of a breach of this Agreement and that Houseofloop may seek injunctive relief to prevent further breaches.
7.3 Houseofloop is not required to notify you of a breach or make a demand to stop any use or distribution in violation of this Agreement.
7.4 Failure of Houseofloop to enforce its rights under this Agreement does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

8. Entire Agreement

8.1 This Agreement is the entire agreement between you and Houseofloop regarding the Licensed Templates and supersedes all prior agreements.

9. Governing Law

9.1 This Agreement is governed by the laws of Italy.
9.2 Any legal action related to this Agreement shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Italy, and both parties consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.
